I’ve gotten the opportunity to stay at the Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort two times during the last two years. Once in March and the other time in May. Each stay was incredible and continues to make us want to come back and visit again! Here’s a complete guide of what a stay looks like at the Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort.
Accommodations
What’s nice about this resort is that they have many different types of accommodations. We stayed in the cabin suites but they also have large Vacation homes, Cowboy cabins, Conestoga wagons, Glamping/deluxe glamping, and Campsites near Zion National Park.
Our cabin suite was homey and had an incredibly comfortable bed! (Steve and I always rate the beds wherever we travel and this cabin easily scored a 10/10).
Dining
When it comes to onsite dining at the Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort, you’ve got several options. First up is Ray’s restaurant, serving breakfast, (included free for overnight guests) lunch and dinner.
In the morning we enjoyed eating a deluxe breakfast buffet which was a perfect way to start off the day. Steve’s recommendation? The waffles! I would tell you that if you don’t build your own parfait you are missing out! Amazing food and even more amazing staff. We’ve also dined for dinner several evenings and have nothing but good things to say about the food options.
Additionally, they also have the Narrows Coffee Bar, Poolside Snack Bar, and their dutch oven dinner (only available during the summer time).
Activities
What sets the Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort apart from most other properties in the area is that it’s way more than just a place to sleep, it’s a complete experience in itself! If you’ve got a blended group of people and don’t feel like hiking all day long in Zion National Park, this resort has got you covered with non-stop fun on-site.

My Favorite Activities-
There is never enough time to enjoy all the different activities that are offered, but a few of my favorites include the zip-line and mini golfing! The Zip line ride is only $10 per flight and mini golf costs about $5/person for the entire day.
Another great way to spend the day is to go paddle boarding or canoeing on the small lake towards the back of the property. This activity is free. You simply need to pick up paddles/oars at the activity barn and enjoy!
I’ve saved my favorite activity for last- the jeep tours! The jeep tours are provided by East Zion Adventures, a “recreation company based on the eastern border of Zion National Park, with over two decades of experience guiding guests on world-class recreation adventures in Utah’s remarkable Zion National Park.”
They offer jeep tours to Checkerboard Mesa Overlook (pictured below), Radio Tower, Brushy Cove, Red Canyon and to three other locations. In addition to the spectacular views you’ll witness along the way, the tours guide also provide fascinating stories about the area and interesting history lessons.

A big thank you to Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort for hosting our stay! All opinions remain my own.
