For our most recent flight, we took both my toddler and my baby from Idaho Falls to Phoenix, Arizona. The short itself is short, only two hours, and it was in the evening time. He is also in the midst of potty training! I hope that gives you a little context of why I packed what I did in his flight bag! As we take different flights with varying durations and times of day/night, I’ll create new blog posts with everything that is inside!

Download a free packing list of what I typically pack inside my toddler’s flight bag when he was 12 months years old.

What’s Inside My Toddlers Flight Bag:

We’re using the No Reception Club Diaper Bag! I really love this bag to fly with because it can fit so much inside and keep it all organized at the same time! Plus the size counts as a personal item and I can fit it underneath the seat in front of me!

Entertainment:

Travel Toys: I pack quite a bit of toddler travel toys because he’s at an age where this is critical to a great flying experience with him! Check out this blog post about where I find the very best toddler travel toys!

I also bring his Amazon Fire tablet along with some toddler headphones for a little screen time while we are traveling. (These are the ones I was using until he was about 2.5 years old.)

Psst: Don’t forget to grab this travel tray that can help keep all the toys contained!

Snacks:

Snacks are also key to having an enjoyable travel toys with a toddler! I love bringing yogurt pouches, fruit & veggie pouches, crackers, fruit, veggies, and even a peanut butter and jelly sandwich! I’ll also bring a toddler waterbottle for him to help prevent spills.

I also like to bring some electrolytes with me when we travel because flying can dehydrate you more quickly than other modes of transportation. Hydralyte has some great travel size options but Just Ingredients (discount code- JESS10) has a clean and organic option but you’ll need to pack your own little baggie of it.

You can shop all my favorite toddler-friendly travel containers and water bottles here.

AirCot:

The Aircot so nice to take in a travel diaper bag because it’s lightweight and doesn’t take up much space. It’s a great way for him to be able to turn his economy seat into business class by giving him a footrest. You can learn more about these travel seat extenders here.

You can use discount code BRIGGS10 for your Aircot!

Potty Training:

My toddler is potty training right now so I’m making sure to bring an extra pair of clothes, and an extra pair of underwear, along with a pull-up in case of emergencies. I’m also bringing the One Proud Toddler potty seat to help him feel comfortable going potty in different places (like airplane bathrooms which can be a little scary). It’s foldable, lightweight, and easy to pack in the bag. You can learn more about the seat from this Instagram video that I created. You can also read about everything that I typically take in his very own potty training backpack in this blog post.

Cleaning:

I like to pack a TSA-friendly container of hand sanitizing and travel-size Clorox wipes with me!

Sleep:

Because we are not flying over a nap time and we’ll land right at bedtime, I’m not going to worry about packing too many bedtime items with me. I do have a portable sound machine in my baby’s diaper bag though that can be used for him if flights were to be delayed.
