Planning a trip to Hong Kong Disneyland with a baby, toddler, or little kid? We’ve taken our kids to Disney parks all over the world, and Hong Kong Disneyland is one of the easiest international Disney parks to experience with little kids.
Hong Kong Disneyland has one theme park, which makes it much less overwhelming than some of the larger Disney destinations. But there is still SO much to do, including World of Frozen, Mystic Manor, Toy Story Land, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Adventureland and more.
In this guide, I’m sharing everything I’d want to know before taking little kids to Hong Kong Disneyland—including what to pack, where to buy tickets, ride height requirements, the best rides for babies and toddlers, strollers, Baby Care Centers, Disney Premier Access, Rider Switch and more.

What to Pack for Hong Kong Disneyland With Kids
Before we get into the park, let’s talk about what to bring.
We have a complete Disney packing list for babies, toddlers, and little kids HERE.
MY TIP: Hong Kong can be HOT and humid, so a portable stroller fan and refillable water bottle would be high on my packing list.
Even though Hong Kong Disneyland is smaller than some of the other Disney parks, there is still plenty of walking, and I would absolutely bring a stroller for toddlers or preschoolers.

Where to Buy Hong Kong Disneyland Tickets
I recommend buying your Hong Kong Disneyland tickets ahead of time.
Children under age 3 currently do not need a park ticket, while children ages 3–11 qualify for child tickets.
Hong Kong Disneyland offers both 1-day and 2-day ticket options.
If Hong Kong Disneyland is one of the main reasons for your trip, I actually really like the idea of a 2-day ticket with little kids because it lets you slow down, take naps and avoid feeling like you need to do everything in one day.
Are Kids Free at Hong Kong Disneyland?
Yes!
Children under age 3 receive free park admission.
Children ages 3–11 qualify for child ticket pricing.
If you’re traveling with a 2-year-old, this can make Hong Kong Disneyland a particularly good value compared with parks where kids start needing tickets at younger ages.
How We Fly Our Family to Asia With Points
One of the biggest expenses when taking a family to Hong Kong Disneyland isn’t necessarily Disney—it’s getting everyone to Asia!
We use travel credit card points and airline miles to help make international travel more affordable for our family.
If you’re new to points, don’t feel like you need to become an expert overnight. Start with our beginner resource:
→ HOW WE TRAVEL WITH CREDIT CARD POINTS
Using points and miles has been one of the biggest ways we’ve been able to take our kids on international trips like this.

World of Frozen? YES — and this is one of the biggest reasons to visit Hong Kong Disneyland with little kids.
Is Hong Kong Disneyland Good for Babies and Toddlers?
YES.
In fact, I think Hong Kong Disneyland is one of the easier Disney parks to do with little kids because it is more manageable in size and has a LOT of attractions without height requirements.
There is also plenty to do outside of rides, including:
- World of Frozen
- Character meet-and-greets
- Shows
- Castle experiences
- Parades
- Fantasyland
- Toy Story Land
- Mystic Point
- Play areas
- Shopping
- Snacks
- Nighttime entertainment
And if your toddler reaches 81 cm/about 32 inches, even more attractions open up.
Hong Kong Disneyland Ride Height Requirements
One of my biggest questions when planning any Disney trip with little kids is:
What can my kids actually ride?
Hong Kong Disneyland has a really good mix of any-height attractions and rides with fairly low minimum height requirements.
The current height-restricted attractions include:
- Toy Soldier Parachute Drop — 81 cm / 32″
- Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs — 95 cm / 37.5″
- Hyperspace Mountain — 102 cm / 40″
- Iron Man Experience — 102 cm / 40″
- Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars — 112 cm / 44″
- RC Racer — 120 cm / about 47–48″

| RC Racer | 120 cm / about 47–48″ | Thrill ride |
Frozen Ever After and Slinky Dog Spin currently have no minimum height requirement.
IMPORTANT: Height requirements can change, so always check the Hong Kong Disneyland app or the attraction entrance before riding.
Best Hong Kong Disneyland Rides for Babies
Hong Kong Disneyland has quite a few rides with no minimum height requirement, which makes it really easy to experience the park with a baby.
Some of our top picks would be:
Frozen Ever After — A MUST if your kids love Frozen. This currently has no minimum height requirement. Keep in mind that it is dark and has some drops.
“it’s a small world” — One of the easiest rides to do with babies and toddlers.
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh — Another classic Fantasyland ride that works well for little kids.
Dumbo the Flying Elephant — Great for babies and toddlers.
Cinderella Carousel — Simple, classic Disney and easy to fit into the day.
Slinky Dog Spin — A fun Toy Story Land ride with no minimum height requirement.
Jungle River Cruise — Another good family attraction.
Mystic Manor — One of the most unique Disney rides anywhere in the world and currently an any-height attraction.
No Height Requirement Doesn’t Always Mean Your Child Will Love It
This is something I wish more Disney guides explained!
Just because your baby or toddler can ride something doesn’t mean they’ll necessarily enjoy it.
Consider:
- Darkness
- Loud noises
- Drops
- Spinning
- Scary characters
- Sudden movement
Mystic Manor in particular is amazing, but some sensitive toddlers could find parts of it spooky.
You know your kid best.
Best Hong Kong Disneyland Rides for Toddlers
If I were visiting Hong Kong Disneyland with a 2- or 3-year-old, these would be high on my list:
- Frozen Ever After
- “it’s a small world”
- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant
- Slinky Dog Spin
- Cinderella Carousel
- Jungle River Cruise
- Mystic Manor
- Mad Hatter Tea Cups
- Orbitron
For an adventurous toddler who reaches 81 cm/about 32 inches, you can also add:
Toy Soldier Parachute Drop
And once they reach 95 cm/about 37.5 inches, they can ride:
Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs in World of Frozen.
Best Hong Kong Disneyland Rides for Little Kids
Once kids get taller, Hong Kong Disneyland becomes even more fun.
In addition to all of the toddler favorites, little kids may start becoming tall enough for:
Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs — 95 cm/about 37.5″
Hyperspace Mountain — 102 cm/about 40″
Iron Man Experience — 102 cm/about 40″
Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars — 112 cm/about 44″
For an adventurous little kid, Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs could be such a fun first coaster.
Then once they hit 102 cm, you’re opening up some of the bigger Tomorrowland rides.
TIP: Measure your kids WITH the shoes they’ll actually be wearing at Disney.
Don’t Miss World of Frozen With Little Kids
If you’re taking kids to Hong Kong Disneyland, World of Frozen should be one of your biggest priorities.
This is the world’s first Frozen-themed land, and it is such a fun area to explore even if your child isn’t tall enough for every attraction.
The two major rides are:
Frozen Ever After
No minimum height requirement, making this one the whole family can potentially enjoy together. It is a dark water ride and includes drops.
Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs
This family coaster currently requires riders to be at least 95 cm/about 37.5 inches tall.
There is also Playhouse in the Woods, an interactive indoor Frozen experience with no height requirement.
Even if you’re visiting with a baby who can’t do much, I’d still make plenty of time just to wander through Arendelle.
Don’t Skip Mystic Manor
Mystic Manor is one of those attractions that makes Hong Kong Disneyland completely different from the U.S. Disney parks.
It is currently an any-height attraction, which means babies and toddlers are not excluded because of height.
But keep in mind that it is a dark ride with animated objects, supernatural-style scenes and some spooky moments.
For an adventurous kid, I would absolutely do it.
For a child who is scared of dark rides, you may want to wait.
Is Hong Kong Disneyland Premier Access Worth It With Kids?
Hong Kong Disneyland’s skip-the-line system is called Disney Premier Access.
One option allows you to purchase Premier Access for one attraction and receive priority access during your designated time slot.
Participating attractions currently include rides like:
- Frozen Ever After
- Mystic Manor
- “it’s a small world”
- Winnie the Pooh
- Dumbo
- Slinky Dog Spin
- Jungle River Cruise
- Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs
- Big Grizzly Mountain
- Hyperspace Mountain
- Toy Soldier Parachute Drop
- Iron Man Experience
The exact attractions and packages can change.
There are also larger Premier Access packages that can include multiple rides, shows and reserved viewing for nighttime entertainment.
Would I Buy Premier Access With Toddlers?
Because Hong Kong Disneyland is a little more manageable than some Disney parks, you may not need to buy Premier Access for everything.
If we only had one day, though, I would absolutely consider using it strategically for the rides with the longest waits—especially Frozen Ever After.
If we had two days, I would be much more selective.
Early Park Entry at Hong Kong Disneyland
This is another option worth knowing about.
Hong Kong Disneyland currently sells an Early Park Entry Pass that allows guests to enter up to one hour before the park’s official opening time.
Children under 3 do not need their own Early Park Entry Pass when accompanied by a parent or guardian with valid admission and a valid pass.
If World of Frozen is a major priority for your family, early entry could be worth considering.
How Rider Switch Works at Hong Kong Disneyland
Hong Kong Disneyland offers Rider Switch, which is extremely helpful when you have a baby or toddler who can’t—or doesn’t want to—ride something.
One adult waits with the non-riding child while the rest of the party rides. Once they return, the waiting adult can ride without waiting through the full queue again.
Disney says Rider Switch is offered on most attractions, including rides such as:
- Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars
- RC Racer
- Hyperspace Mountain
- Toy Soldier Parachute Drop
One particularly useful detail: the second rider can bring one other person from the party with them when they ride.
Always ask the Cast Member at the attraction entrance how Rider Switch is being handled that day.
Baby Care Centers at Hong Kong Disneyland
Hong Kong Disneyland currently has two Baby Care Centers, which is especially convenient with babies and toddlers.
Main Street, U.S.A.
The Baby Care Center is located next to Main Street Corner Cafe.
Grizzly Gulch
There is another Baby Care Center near the entrance to Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars.
The Baby Care Centers currently include:
- Nursing areas with chairs
- Feeding areas
- Kitchen
- Refrigerator
- Microwave
- Sink
- Diaper-changing room
The Main Street Baby Care Center also serves as the location where separated children may be taken until reunited with their parents.
This is one of those locations I would save in the app BEFORE you need it.
Should You Bring a Stroller to Hong Kong Disneyland?
YES.
Hong Kong Disneyland may be smaller than Shanghai, Walt Disney World or Disneyland Paris, but I would still bring a stroller for a baby, toddler or preschooler.
Between the heat, humidity, naps and full Disney days, little legs get tired FAST.
Hong Kong Disneyland allows guests to bring their own strollers, but strollers aren’t allowed on rides and need to be parked in designated stroller parking areas.
You can also rent a stroller at the Disneyland Fire Department next to City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A.
At the time of writing, stroller rental is:
HK$170 per day
You can also rent a:
Rain cover — HK$50
Stroller lock — HK$50
Each also requires a refundable deposit. Rentals are first come, first served.
I actually LOVE that they rent stroller rain covers because Hong Kong weather can change quickly.
I still personally prefer bringing our own familiar travel stroller because we can use it at the airport and everywhere else in Hong Kong.

Feeding Babies & Toddlers at Hong Kong Disneyland
If you need somewhere quieter to feed a baby, the Baby Care Centers have dedicated feeding areas as well as a kitchen with a microwave, refrigerator and sink.
That can make things much easier if you’re traveling with:
- Bottles
- Formula
- Baby food
- Purees
- Toddler meals
I would still pack plenty of familiar snacks for toddlers because hungry kids and Disney lines are not a great combination!
Things to Do at Hong Kong Disneyland With Toddlers Besides Rides
Don’t make the mistake of planning your entire Hong Kong Disneyland day around rides!
There is plenty to do even if your baby isn’t tall enough—or your toddler simply doesn’t want to ride.
Make time for:
- Exploring World of Frozen
- Playhouse in the Woods
- Character meet-and-greets
- Duffy and Friends
- Castle of Magical Dreams
- Shows
- Parades
- Fairy Tale Forest
- Fantasy Gardens
- Toy Story Land
- Shopping
- Disney snacks
- Nighttime entertainment
- Letting your kids simply wander around Arendelle
Sometimes the best toddler Disney strategy is doing LESS.
Best Shows & Entertainment for Little Kids
Entertainment schedules can change, so always check the Hong Kong Disneyland app for the schedule on your exact day.
I’d especially look for:
- Castle stage shows
- Character experiences
- Frozen entertainment
- Theater shows
- Parades
- Momentous nighttime spectacular
Hong Kong Disneyland also sells certain Premier Access packages that include designated viewing areas for Momentous and access to selected shows.
Our Ideal 1-Day Hong Kong Disneyland Plan With Little Kids
Hong Kong Disneyland is one of the international Disney parks I actually think is very doable in one full day with a good plan.
Morning
Arrive EARLY.
If World of Frozen is important to your family, I would go there first.
Prioritize:
- Frozen Ever After
- Explore Arendelle
- Playhouse in the Woods
- Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs if your child is 95 cm+
Then head toward Fantasyland.
Late Morning
Prioritize:
- “it’s a small world”
- Winnie the Pooh
- Dumbo
- Cinderella Carousel
- Mickey’s PhilharMagic
Lunch
Take an actual break!
If it’s hot, this is a good time to find air conditioning and let everyone reset.
Early Afternoon
Use this as your slower period.
Let younger kids nap in the stroller while adults:
- Shop
- Grab snacks
- Use Rider Switch
- Use Premier Access
- Ride thrill rides
Parents or taller kids could prioritize:
- Big Grizzly Mountain
- Hyperspace Mountain
- Iron Man Experience
- RC Racer
Afternoon
Head toward:
- Mystic Manor
- Toy Story Land
- Slinky Dog Spin
- Jungle River Cruise
- Characters
Evening
Dinner, then enjoy the castle and nighttime entertainment.
If your kids can make it, stay for Momentous.
Would I Spend One or Two Days at Hong Kong Disneyland With Kids?
Hong Kong Disneyland is one of the parks where I think one full day can genuinely work.
It’s smaller and easier to navigate than destinations like Shanghai Disneyland or Disneyland Paris.
However, if you’re traveling with:
- A baby who needs frequent breaks
- A jet-lagged toddler
- Kids who love characters
- A huge Frozen fan
- Kids who want to repeat rides
…two days would make the trip MUCH more relaxed.
You won’t feel like you’re racing from one side of the park to the other trying to check everything off.
Staying at a Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel With Kids
Hong Kong Disneyland Resort currently has three Disney hotels:
Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel
Disney Explorers Lodge
Disney’s Hollywood Hotel
Disney Explorers Lodge is an especially fun option for families because the entire resort has an adventure/explorer theme.
Depending on the current hotel offer, eligible hotel bookings may also include perks such as Early Park Entry, so I would check the current offers when booking.
If Disney is a major focus of your Hong Kong trip, staying onsite can make the park day much easier with little kids.
How to Get to Hong Kong Disneyland
One of the great things about Hong Kong Disneyland is that it’s relatively easy to reach using Hong Kong’s public transportation system.
The MTR is generally one of the easiest options, and the Disneyland Resort Line makes the final connection to the resort.
If you’re staying elsewhere in Hong Kong with little kids, you can also compare:
- MTR
- Taxi
- Private transfer
With a stroller, sleeping toddler and Disney bags at the end of the night, sometimes a taxi is worth every penny. Check out our favorite travel car seats here.
Jet Lag at Hong Kong Disneyland With Kids
If you’re coming from the United States, don’t underestimate the time change.
Your baby or toddler may:
- Wake up VERY early
- Get hungry at strange times
- Need an early nap
- Crash long before the nighttime show
Instead of fighting jet lag, we try to build our Disney day around it.
Early wake-ups can actually work in your favor at Disney because you may have no problem getting everyone out the door for park opening!
Then use a stroller nap during the afternoon.

With babies or toddlers, though, two days gives you more time for naps, characters, World of Frozen and repeat rides.

For babies and toddlers, absolutely.
I’d even consider one for a preschooler who normally walks because between the heat, jet lag and a full Disney day, little legs can get tired FAST.
We’ve taken our kids to Disney parks around the world, and my biggest advice is this: don’t try to do everything.
Hong Kong Disneyland is one of those parks where slowing down really works in your favor. Spend time exploring World of Frozen, ride your kids’ favorites more than once, let them meet the characters they care about and don’t feel like you have to race through a checklist just because you’ve traveled all the way to Hong Kong.
