Get a Room with a View
I can’t stress this enough, if available, book a poolside view guestroom or suite! The room itself pays homage to the rich, Sonoran Desert while allowing all guests to feel right at home. In addition to the incredible room itself, you’ll get to enjoy sunrises and sunsets (and everything in between) on a spacious balcony. The balcony boasts a small table and comfortable couch where you can take your morning coffee or enjoy good company and drinks during the evening.
Explore the Cactus Garden
Steps from the front entrance and at the base of Camelback Mountain, guests can enjoy a secluded two-acre retreat that features over 250 varieties of cacti and succulents. The girls and I loved strolling along the beautiful stone paths to work off some of the delicious food from lunch (more on that later). If you’re interested , you can schedule a guided tour led by their resident horticulturist by visiting the resort’s Concierge Desk.
Enjoy the Multi-tiered Phoenician Pools
Keeping with The Phoenician “wow factor”, guests can enjoy three unique pools! The upper pool is for aquatic recreation and is family-friendly. The center pool is adult-only while the lower-level (Mother-of Pearl Pool) is tranquil and relaxing.
What I loved about the layout was that there was ample family-friendly and adult-only reserved seating available. Don’t want to reserve a daybed or a cabana? No worries! There’s enough general seating to go around.
What’s more is that aside from the perfectly heated water, you get to enjoy views of nearby Camelback Mountain while sipping on your drink of choice.
Rent a Cabana at the Adults-Only Pool
I mentioned above a little bit about the cabanas but let me elaborate on this unique amenity a bit more here. We were able to enjoy a beautiful cabana for the day that sat alongside the adults-only pool. From the shaded refuge to the peaceful atmosphere, (hey, kids are great but sometimes you need a minute without them, right?) the cabana was a total hit! Moving onto the next amazing thing to do during a girls trip to The Phoenician…dine and sip all day long pool-side! The Kalio Kabobery features a Mediterranean-inspired menu that boasts an array of frozen beverages, full-service bar, sandwiches and salads, ice cream bars and more!
Here’s a rundown of our favorite offerings that we tried- the chicken quesadillas, the chips and guac platter, the mojitos and of course, the piña coladas! Not only do you get delicious food, but the service is super friendly and quick!
Treat Yourself to a Massage
Two years ago I got my first massage and have been addicted ever since. I always take the opportunity when presented to unwind at the hands of a skilled masseuse! So when I say this was the BEST massage I’ve ever gotten, I don’t say that lightly.
Going to The Phoenician Spa is a complete experience, not just a simple treatment. From the quiet relaxation room, the fitness center, rooftop pool, Drybar, and the nail lounge, to the expansive menu of treatment offerings, one could easily spend the entire day (or trip) here!
Reserve a Court and Get Your Sweat On
One morning during our trip we decided to burn off some of the food that we’d been indulging in by playing tennis! Guests can reserve one of the seven courts (there are two pickleball courts if you’re interested in that) and rent equipment for the Athletic Shop.
