Our family has officially visited all 12 Disney theme parks around the world, and if there’s one thing we’ve learned from doing Disney with babies, toddlers and little kids, it’s that where you stay matters!
A great Disney hotel doesn’t necessarily have to be an official Disney resort.

We’ve stayed at Best Western and WorldHotels properties during several of our Disney trips around the world, and there are some seriously great options—especially if you want to stay close to the parks without necessarily paying Disney resort prices.
Below, we’re sharing the Best Western and WorldHotels properties our family has personally stayed at near Disney destinations, plus a few properties we would consider for destinations where we haven’t personally stayed at a BWH Hotels property yet.
And because getting to the parks with little kids is a BIG part of choosing a hotel, we’re also breaking down the easiest way to get from each hotel to Disney.
Quick note: Best Western and WorldHotels are both part of BWH Hotels, which is why you’ll see both brands included throughout this guide. This blog post is sponsored by Best Western but all opinions remain our own.
Best Western Hotels Near Disneyland California

Disneyland Resort in Anaheim is probably where Best Western shines the most for Disney families.
Why?
You can literally stay across the street from Disneyland.
Best Western Plus Park Place Inn – Mini-Suites
If your number-one priority is getting as close to Disneyland as possible without staying at a Disney hotel, this is a fantastic option.
Best Western Plus Park Place Inn – Mini-Suites is located directly across from Disneyland Resort’s main pedestrian entrance. Best Western lists Disneyland, Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney at approximately 0.1 mile from the hotel.
For families with little kids, that location is HUGE.
After a long Disney day, there’s something magical about not having to fold up your stroller, load everyone onto transportation and then make another trek back to your hotel.
Why We Like It for Families
The mini-suites can accommodate families of up to six, and rooms include a microwave and refrigerator. There’s also complimentary breakfast, an outdoor pool and guest laundry.
Those little conveniences matter a lot more once you’re traveling with kids.
🚶 Easiest Way to Disneyland: WALK
Don’t bother with transportation.
Walk across Harbor Boulevard to Disneyland Resort’s pedestrian entrance.
This is one of those hotels where location is the amenity. Being able to walk back for naps, forgotten items or an afternoon break can make a Disney trip with little kids dramatically easier.
Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn
Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn is another Best Western we’ve stayed at when visiting Disneyland.
It’s also located along Harbor Boulevard and Best Western lists both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure at approximately 0.1 mile away.
That makes this another great option if your priority is being able to get out of your hotel in the morning, grab the stroller and WALK to Disney.
Why We Like It for Families
The biggest selling point here is again the location.
When we’re traveling with little kids, we’ll almost always choose convenience over adding another transportation step to our morning.
🚶 Easiest Way to Disneyland: WALK
This one’s easy.
Walk to Disneyland.
No rental car. No rideshare. No hotel shuttle schedule.
If you’re comparing these two Anaheim Best Western properties, I’d look at the room configuration and price for your dates. Both give you one of the biggest perks you can have at Disneyland: an extremely short walk to the parks.
WorldHotels Near Walt Disney World in Orlando

Caribe Royale Orlando, WorldHotels Elite
Where Is Briggs has stayed here: YES: Check out our stay here!
If you want something that feels more like an Orlando resort vacation while still having easy access to Walt Disney World, we really like Caribe Royale Orlando.
Caribe Royale is a Walt Disney World Good Neighbor Hotel and is located only about 1.5 miles from the entrance to Walt Disney World Resort.
The property itself is also a big reason we’d consider staying here again with kids. It’s an all-suite resort with a huge pool, a 75-foot waterslide, a kids’ splash pool, playground, arcade and multiple restaurants.
Having a separate living area is also such a nice perk when traveling with kids—especially when you’re trying to get little ones to sleep while the adults aren’t ready for bed yet.
🚌 Easiest Way to Disney World: HOTEL SHUTTLE
This is one of the best transportation setups on this list.
Scheduled shuttle transportation to all four Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Springs is included in the resort fee.
The shuttle requires reservations, and the hotel currently allows guests to reserve Disney transportation through the concierge up to 24 hours in advance.
That means you can get to:
- Magic Kingdom
- EPCOT
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Disney Springs
without having to drive yourself.
Family tip: Check the current shuttle schedule before your trip because departure and return times can change. If you’re planning on rope dropping a park or staying extremely late, compare the shuttle schedule with your park plans.
Best Western Near Disneyland Paris

Best Western Hotel Grand Parc
Where Is Briggs has stayed here: YES: Check out our stay here!
Best Western Hotel Grand Parc is located in Chanteloup-en-Brie, approximately 7 km from Disneyland Paris.
It’s not a walk-to-Disney hotel like our Anaheim picks, but it’s still close enough to make it a practical off-property option.
This one can also be especially interesting for larger families because the hotel offers family accommodations, and amenities include a games room, fitness center, sauna and Jacuzzi.
🚗 Easiest Way to Disneyland Paris: TAXI/RIDESHARE
You can use public transportation.
There’s a bus stop near the hotel that connects to Val d’Europe, where you can take the RER A to Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy at Disneyland Paris.
But with little kids?
We would keep it simple and take a taxi or rideshare directly to Disneyland Paris.
When you’re already carrying park bags, jackets, snacks and potentially a stroller, avoiding an extra bus-to-train transfer can be worth it.
For families trying to keep their Disney trip affordable while still staying relatively close to the parks, this is definitely one to check.
WorldHotels Near Tokyo Disneyland & Tokyo DisneySea

Tokyo Disney Resort is a little different because you may not necessarily want to spend your entire trip near Disney.
Tokyo itself is AMAZING, so we like the idea of choosing a hotel that lets you experience the city while still making Disney accessible.
We’ve stayed at two WorldHotels properties in Tokyo that can work for very different parts of a Japan trip.
Dai-ichi Hotel Tokyo, WorldHotels Elite
Where Is Briggs has stayed here: YES: Check out our stay here!
Dai-ichi Hotel Tokyo is in Shimbashi, making this our pick if you’re combining Tokyo sightseeing + Disney.
The hotel is only about a two-minute walk from Shimbashi Station, which makes it incredibly convenient for exploring Tokyo.
🚆 Easiest Way to Tokyo Disney Resort: TRAIN
From Shimbashi, you’ll use Tokyo’s rail network to travel toward Maihama Station, the main rail station for Tokyo Disney Resort.
One common route is Shimbashi → Tokyo Station, then transfer to the JR Keiyo Line for Maihama.
Once you arrive at Maihama, you’re right at Tokyo Disney Resort.
If you’re visiting Tokyo Disneyland, you can walk toward the park entrance. For Tokyo DisneySea, you can use the Disney Resort Line.
Who We’d Choose This Hotel For
Choose Dai-ichi Hotel Tokyo if Disney is part of your Tokyo vacation rather than your entire Tokyo vacation.
You get a great city location while still being able to make a Disney day happen by train.
Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Haneda Airport, WorldHotels Distinctive
Where Is Briggs has stayed here: YES– Check out our stay here!
This hotel serves a completely different purpose.
Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Haneda Airport is directly connected to Haneda Airport Terminal 3, making it an incredibly convenient beginning or ending to a Tokyo trip.
We wouldn’t necessarily choose it as our home base for multiple consecutive Disney days. Instead, we like it as an airport hotel that can work beautifully before or after the Disney portion of your trip.
🚆 Easiest Way to Tokyo Disney: Public Transportation or Taxi
This is important because you’ll find outdated information online:
The hotel’s free shuttle to Tokyo Disneyland ended on August 31, 2025.
So don’t book this property expecting a free Disney shuttle.
For a Disney-focused stay, Dai-ichi Hotel Tokyo makes more sense out of these two properties. Villa Fontaine Grand Haneda is the hotel we’d consider when airport convenience is the priority.
WorldHotels Near Hong Kong Disneyland
Auberge Discovery Bay Hong Kong, WorldHotels Distinctive
We have not personally stayed at this property yet, but if we were booking a BWH Hotels property specifically for a Hong Kong Disneyland trip, Auberge Discovery Bay Hong Kong would be at the top of our list.
It’s located on Lantau Island—the same island as Hong Kong Disneyland—and gives you more of a resort atmosphere than staying in the middle of Hong Kong.
The hotel has 325 rooms and suites, many with beautiful water views, plus a pool and family-friendly resort amenities.
🚆 Easiest Way to Hong Kong Disneyland: SHUTTLE + MTR
Transportation is one of the reasons we like this recommendation.
The hotel operates transportation connecting guests with Sunny Bay MTR Station. From Sunny Bay, you can hop aboard the Disneyland Resort Line straight to Hong Kong Disneyland.
It’s a really easy Disney connection compared with staying much farther away in central Hong Kong.
Depending on the hotel’s current transportation schedule during your stay, there may also be Disney-specific transportation options, so we would always ask the hotel when booking.
Important: Shuttle routes and schedules can change, so verify the current schedule directly with the hotel before your trip.
Who We’d Choose This Hotel For
Families who want to prioritize Hong Kong Disneyland + a quieter resort experience rather than staying directly in the center of Hong Kong.
WorldHotels Near Shanghai Disneyland

We have two BWH Hotels properties we’d consider in Shanghai, but we’d choose between them based on the kind of trip we were planning.
Evergreen Laurel Hotel Shanghai, WorldHotels Distinctive
We have not personally stayed here, but this would be our first property to investigate if Disney were the main priority.
Evergreen Laurel Hotel is located in Pudong, putting you on the same side of Shanghai as Shanghai Disneyland rather than basing yourself in the historic center of the city.
🚗 Easiest Way to Shanghai Disneyland: DiDi/Taxi
Public transportation is possible, but if we were doing this with little kids, we’d probably keep things simple and use DiDi or a taxi.
Shanghai’s Metro system is excellent, but a direct car eliminates transfers, navigating stations with a stroller and figuring everything out early in the morning.
If Shanghai Disneyland is the main reason for your visit, we’d look at Evergreen Laurel before the more centrally located WorldHotels properties.
Grand Central Hotel Shanghai, WorldHotels Elite
Where Is Briggs recommendation: Check out our stay here!
This would be our pick for a completely different traveler.
Grand Central Hotel Shanghai is located adjacent to Nanjing Road and close to the Bund and People’s Square.
Translation: you’re staying in a much better location for actually experiencing Shanghai.
The hotel also has an indoor heated pool, which can be a really nice perk when traveling with kids.
🚇 Easiest Way to Shanghai Disneyland: METRO OR DIDI
Shanghai Disneyland is farther away from this hotel than it is from Evergreen Laurel.
You can use Shanghai’s Metro system to get to Disney, but with little kids we’d also price out a DiDi for the morning.
Which Shanghai Hotel Would We Choose?
If Shanghai Disneyland is your priority:
→ Evergreen Laurel Hotel Shanghai
If you want to experience Shanghai AND spend a day at Disney:
→ Grand Central Hotel Shanghai
We’d personally lean toward Grand Central for a first trip to Shanghai because we wouldn’t want to sacrifice being in a great location for exploring the city just to save some transportation time on one Disney day.
Quick Guide: Which BWH Hotel Should You Choose Near Each Disney Resort?
Disneyland California:
Best Western Plus Park Place Inn – Mini-Suites OR Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn
🚶 Transportation: Walk
Walt Disney World:
Caribe Royale Orlando, WorldHotels Elite
🚌 Transportation: Hotel Disney shuttle
Disneyland Paris:
Best Western Hotel Grand Parc
🚗 Transportation: Taxi/rideshare is easiest with kids
Tokyo Disneyland + Tokyo DisneySea:
Dai-ichi Hotel Tokyo, WorldHotels Elite
🚆 Transportation: Train
Tokyo + Haneda Airport:
Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Haneda Airport, WorldHotels Distinctive
✈️ Best for: Airport convenience before/after your Disney trip
Hong Kong Disneyland:
Auberge Discovery Bay Hong Kong, WorldHotels Distinctive
🚆 Transportation: Hotel transportation toward Sunny Bay + Disneyland Resort Line
Shanghai Disneyland:
Evergreen Laurel Hotel Shanghai, WorldHotels Distinctive
🚗 Transportation: DiDi/taxi
Shanghai Disneyland + Shanghai sightseeing:
Grand Central Hotel Shanghai, WorldHotels Elite
🚇 Transportation: Metro or DiDi
Are Best Western and WorldHotels Good for Disney Trips?
After taking our kids to every Disney theme park in the world, we’ve learned that you absolutely don’t have to stay at a Disney-owned hotel to have an amazing Disney vacation.
In some destinations, staying off-property can actually make a lot of sense.
In Anaheim, you can stay at a Best Western and literally walk across the street to Disneyland.
In Orlando, you can stay at a WorldHotels property with scheduled transportation to all four Walt Disney World parks.
And internationally, BWH Hotels gives families options that can work for combining Disney with a much larger trip to destinations like Tokyo, Hong Kong, Paris and Shanghai.
Our biggest piece of advice is to think beyond just the nightly hotel price.
When traveling to Disney with little kids, we look at:
- How long it actually takes to get to Disney
- Whether we can walk to the parks
- Whether there’s a hotel shuttle
- How complicated public transportation will be with a stroller
- Room size and sleeping arrangements
- Breakfast options
- Pools and kid-friendly amenities
- Laundry
- Refrigerators and microwaves
- Whether the location also works for sightseeing outside Disney
Sometimes paying a little more to stay somewhere that eliminates an hour of transportation every day is absolutely worth it.
And after visiting all 12 Disney parks around the world with our kids, convenience has become one of the biggest things we consider when deciding where our family stays.
