Wisconsin Dells is known as the “Waterpark Capital of the World” because it has the largest concentration of indoor and outdoor waterparks. But don’t be fooled, waterparks aren’t the only thing drawing visitors here year after year. Here are 5 reasons why you need to take an adult vacation to the Wisconsin Dells!
1.Release Your Inner-Child At The Waterpark Capital of the World
Growing up near Chicago, my parents took my four siblings and I to the Wisconsin Dells each winter. Every time, we ended up staying at the Wilderness Resort. Not only are the hotel rooms really nice and comfortable, there are four indoor waterparks! While one is primarily for kids, the other three have some pretty awesome features that adults love!
For example, I love the 5 ft wave pool at the Wild WaterDome, the hurricane ride at the Klondike Kavern, and the black hole waterslide at the Wild West Waterpark. I can’t forget to mention that there is an indoor/outdoor spa along with Margarita’s, the swim-up bar, that we loved relaxing in!

2.There Are Many Non-Waterpark Activities At The Wisconsin Dells
There is an endless list of things to do in the Wisconsin Dells besides waterparks. Honestly, there is no way that you can possibly get to them all during your adult vacation to the Wisconsin Dells. So, I would recommend taking a peek at all of the activities and attractions in the area and choose your top several to pursue during your trip.
So come for the waterparks, but stay for the go karts, escape rooms, golf courses, trolley tours, zip line adventures, shooting ranges, boat rides, trampoline parks, museums, wildlife parks, and much more!
3.You Can Make It A Romantic Trip
Want to relax a bit during your vacation? There are options for you too! I would recommend booking a room at the Sundara Inn & Spa. “Sundara was ranked the #4 Best Resort Hotel in Travel + Leisure magazine’s “World’s Best Awards for 2018” as voted on by readers.”
This romantic spot is tucked into a scenic forest right along the edge of town. They offer salon services, facials, massages, body treatments, bath treatments and a salt therapy room.
4.Indulge In The Fantastic Food And Drinks In The Area
Consider yourself a foodie? You’ll never want to leave this town. Most resorts also offer plenty of options on-site, which is definitely the case at the Wilderness Resort. Here are all the dining options available to you at that resort.

Pro-tip- Wisconsin is known for their famous cheese so be sure to purchase some cheese curds at one of the local shops. In addition, take a walk through the Bavarian Village that has a German Glockenspiel in downtown!
5.It’s Great In Every Season
The last reason why I think you should add an adult vacation to the Wisconsin Dells to your travel plans this year is that you can visit year-round! During the winter, you still have access to plenty of indoor waterparks and indoor activities like theaters, laser tag, arcades, etc. Also, the restaurants are open during all seasons.
If you are able to visit during the summer, not only will you get to experience the winter-friendly activities, you’ll also have additional outdoor options. For example, you’ll double the waterparks that you’ll be able to play at. As well, you can enjoy outdoor activities like hiking at Devil’s Lake State Park, taking a boat ride along the river, and exploring Witches Gulch.
Honestly, you can’t go wrong when you decide to book your vacation. The Wisconsin Dells is a year-round destination!
