Where To Stay In The Blackstone District
There’s absolutely no question of where you should stay when visiting the Blackstone District in Omaha. A revitalized 1920’s landmark building has recently been reimagined and named The Cottonwood Hotel. Not only did the creators do a phenomenal job at capturing the signature Midwest charm, but did so with a “fresh approach to modern hospitality.”
I was lucky enough to spend a night at the Cottonwood Hotel and experience the friendly hospitality, boutique amenities and delicious on-site dining experiences. I could go on and on about this sophisticated hotel but to respect the name of this article as a “quick guide” here’s a list of all the things that are worth experiencing for yourself at the Cottonwood Hotel.
- Onsite Dining Experiences: The Cottonwood Room Lounge (upscale cocktail bar), The Committee Chophouse, and the Orleans Cafe and Petit Orleans (breakfast and lunch cafe and to-go option). It would be a shame if I didn’t mention that you can order the original Reuben sandwich here!

You’ll want to visit the Joselyn Castle that has been an Omaha landmark since 1979. The mansion is located at 3902 Davenport Street.
