Exploring Tokyo with Little Ones: A Family Adventure

Embarking on a journey to Tokyo with a baby and a toddler might sound like a daunting task (it definitely was for me!) but it was an experience filled with priceless memories! From vibrant cityscapes to cultural wonders, Tokyo offers a kaleidoscope of experiences that cater to both young and old. I want to share some of the family-friendly things that we did while we were there for 48 hours.

I saved our trip experience in a highlight bubble on my Instagram page called “Japan”. Go watch those stories!

Choosing Our Base: The Dai Ichi Hotel Tokyo

First things first, settling on accommodation is crucial when traveling with young children. We went with the Dai Ichi Hotel Tokyo as our home away from home. We loved this five-star hotel for many reasons! The luxury amenities, the on-site breakfast options, and the location right next to the train station. Also, if you aren’t aware many Tokyo hotel rooms are quite cramped but we found ours to be quite spacious! We were even given the option of adding a third bed inside our hotel room for my toddler. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel!

TeamLab Borderless: A Digital Wonderland

Our first stop on this thrilling journey was TeamLab Borderless, an immersive digital art museum that defies traditional boundaries. With our little explorers wide-eyed with wonder, we ventured through a mesmerizing landscape of light, color, and sound. From interactive installations to enchanting projections, it was a sensory delight for the entire family.

Shibuya Sky: A Bird’s Eye View

Next up, we ascended to the heights of Shibuya Sky, where the iconic Tokyo skyline unfolded before our eyes. Holding our little ones close, we marveled at the sprawling metropolis below, feeling the pulse of the city beneath our feet. The panoramic vista was a breathtaking reminder of Tokyo’s boundless energy and charm.

DisneySea and Disneyland Tokyo: Where Dreams Come True

No family trip to Tokyo would be complete without a visit to the magical realms of DisneySea or Disneyland Tokyo. We only had time to visit one of them and we decided on DisneySea since there’s only one of them in the entire world! From exploring Arabian ports to traversing fairy-tale castles, the parks ignited the imaginations of both young and old alike. You can check out my post about our DisneySea experience here.

There is so much to do in Tokyo with young kids but sadly we only had 48 hours to explore! We definitely would love to visit again!
