Breastfeeding and traveling are hard enough on their own, but combining them together can make any mom nervous! Whether it’s a lack of practice or simply not knowing the best strategies, it can make it difficult to want to leave the house with your nursing baby.

One of the largest hurdles that new moms face when starting their breastfeeding journey is what to wear! Sure it’s easy enough to wear any old t-shirt while at home and simply just pull it up while nursing, but what happens when you’re traveling and that option doesn’t suit you?

This is when having travel-friendly nursing clothes is so important! Not only do you want to feel confident in a time when many don’t (postpartum and traveling with a baby) but you need the clothes to be functional and easy to use. Plus, I don’t want the clothes I’m wearing to scream “I’M A NURSING MOM!”

I took a poll on my Instagram of what qualities women were searching for when it came to what they wanted in nursing clothes and the feedback is amazing! Check out below some of the most common answers:

  • Is it easy to wash?
  • If it has a snap, can I undo it with one hand?
  • Ease of access while in public
  • Does it look like a normal clothes?
  • Great price point (can’t justify super expensive maternity clothes)
  • Still trendy! We want to fit in.
  • Light colored (easy to hide spit up better)
  • Are they flattering?
  • Good quality fabric! (no one wants the cheap material that makes us feel frumpy)
  • Simplicity! (not a lot of layers)
  • Styles that have nursing flaps hidden well (Don’t want it to look like an obvious nursing top).
  • Stylish enough to wear post-nursing
  • Durability after many washes

I recently tested out several items from Nursing Queen that I need to tell you about! We just got back from a trip to Tahiti and during the flight I wore this nursing pocket t-shirt and a nursing pull-over sweatshirt both from Nursing Queen.

While I am no longer breastfeeding Briggs, I tested out the clothing as if I were breastfeeding during our flights and time at the airport. I was really impressed by the quality of clothes! They weren’t cheap-feeling or see through. I really did love layering both the t-shirt and the sweatshirt together because I was able to wrap the sweatshirt around my waist while navigating the airport so I didn’t overheat. But then when we got on the plane and they blasted the AC, I slipped the sweatshirt back on over my nursing t-shirt.

The zippers on both items of clothing are durable and won’t be breaking anytime soon! I also loved that they were indiscreet, meaning that you could not tell that these items of clothing were for nursing moms!

I did also get this beautiful nursing dress from Nursing Queen that I can’t wait to use as soon as the weather gets a little better!

If you’re looking for great quality nursing clothes that are also stylish, I totally recommend the clothes from Nursing Queen! You can use discount code BRIGGS10 for any purchases from their site.
