7 Amazing Utah Hot Springs [Complete Guide]

We’ve always loved hot springs. In fact, we took a three day Idaho road trip to track down all the best ones. So when we moved to Utah, we created a new bucket list of the best natural Utah hot springs and started hunting all of them down.

A few of them require a short hike, but most are easily accessible for all to enjoy. Also, I also get people asking me if there are hot springs near Zion, the other National Parks, or even hot springs near Moab. These 7 hot springs that I am going to share with you are sprinkled throughout the state so no matter where you are you are, one will be within driving distance!

1. Mystic Hot Springs, Monroe Utah

Most people know this spot as the Utah hot springs bathtubs found in Monroe, Utah. There is not too much in the immediate surrounding area but it is still worth the drive to experience these hot springs!

Mystic Hot Springs does charge an entry fee and swimsuits are required. If you are looking to make a trip out it you can rent cabins or RV’s that they have on their property for the night. There are several different tubs that they have and a large soaking pool so there is room for everyone!

2. Diamond Fork Hot Springs (Fifth Water Hot Springs), Spanish Fork Utah

Diamond Fork Hot Springs (sometimes called Fifth Water) is on the bucket list of many utahans. And for good reason! It has several hot pools with vibrant blue water cascading down a mountain. The accompanying waterfalls make it seem like it’s straight out of a movie scene.

These hot springs require a bit of a hike to make it to the top. We used the directions from All Trails and we didn’t get lost…so that’s a totally win for us. If you are looking to get there at a time where not many others will be there we would recommend early morning. The time that we hiked here we got to the parking lot by 7am and made it there by about 7:45AM.

There was already another small group there but for the most part we got to enjoy a bit of seclusion until about 9am. As we were walking back down the trail we passed hoards of other hot spring seekers so we were glad we got there when we did. Swimsuits are not required so if that is something you try to avoid seeing I would go either during the week or early morning before anyone else gets there.

3. Saratoga Hot Springs (Inlet Park), Saratoga Springs Utah

If you’re looking natural hot springs close to Salt Lake City, then Saratoga Hot Springs is for you! This is the closest hot spring to Salt Lake requiring only a 30-40 minute drive (depending on Utah traffic).

For these hot springs it is easiest to search for Inlet Park on google maps and use the parking lot. After you have parked you will find a non-paved trail that connects to the parking lot. It’s about 1/4 mile before you come to the largest hot pool.

If you find that there are already a lot of people there or you are looking for something a bit more secluded there are various smaller pools around the area. You just have to do a bit a searching. Here are some more detailed instructions. 

4. Meadow Hot Springs, Fillmore Utah

This Utah hot springs can be found in the middle of a farmers field. Crazy, huh? Meadow Hot Springs is one of those local gems that still hasn’t been overrun by the crowds. If you are looking for a unique location and an amazingly clear hot springs then this is the one for you! It’s so deep that scuba divers use it for training and practice!

Please, please pick up after yourselves when you visit this hot spring on private property. The owner is gracious enough to continue to let us use it so please be respectful. Better yet, grab a trash bag and on your short walk from the parking lot over to the hot springs pick up some litter! Let’s all do a better job and keeping local gems like this clean so everyone can enjoy them.

5. Homestead Crater, Midway Utah

Next on the list of the best Utah Hot springs is the Homestead Crater! This unique soaking experience can be found in Midway, 30 minutes from Park City. (This is best natural hot spring near Park City).

If you’ve ever wanted to swim in a crater here is your chance! Homestead Crater is one of those once in a lifetime experiences so if you are in Utah put this on your bucket list. You do have to pay an entrance fee but check groupon before you buy because there are usually great deals listed.

They have snorkel gear that you can rent or you can give scuba diving a try! Grab your adventure buddy and make the drive out to Midway, Utah to soak is this hot spring crater! Looking to make your stay a bit longer? You can book a room at the Homestead Resort!

6. Baker Hot Springs, Delta Utah

This is a local hot spot for the residents of Delta, Utah but they are more than happy to share them with outside guests! There are three large tubs that can accommodate several people so bring your friends! What we love about these hot springs is the temperature is totally controllable by you. There are two tubes that either fill the tubs with hot or cold water so you can create the perfect temperature that is right for you.

The driving directions are a little tricky to get here so follow these instructions. Once again, please clean up after yourselves! The locals do a great job of cleaning all the tubs and scrubbing them with bleach so they remain nice for all visitors. However, it totally should not be their responsibility to pick up trash. Let’s all do our part and keep Utah’s hot springs beautiful.

7. Crystal Hot Springs, Honeyville Utah

The last Utah hot spring on our list to explore is Crystal Hot springs. This is a nice place to stop if you are either driving to Idaho or back from Idaho. These hot springs are maintained so there is an entrance fee that you must pay in order to soak in them. For us, these remind us a little of Lava Hot Springs that are found in Idaho. This is a great place to go as a large group or family because there is so much room! For more information, you can visit their site.
